The Sunday Scoop

Guess what I got for my birthday!!!

Go ahead... guess...

(it sucks)

But I'm linking up with the Teaching Trio for the Sunday Scoop anyway... because it's quick and easy and I can't nap all day!

Have to do
1.) Laundry: I had to do that last weekend too ~ I never really did (oops).  But since I'm sick Hubs will drag it up and down the stairs for me so some is actually getting done.
2.) Drink Fluids - I've got to kick this cold.
3.) Lesson Prep - is there a teacher in the world that isn't doing lesson prep on a Sunday?  I think not.

Hope to do
1.) Make puzzle pieces - my room-mates and I are doing a "We all fit right in" display outside our classroom at school.  I need to get the scrapbook paper and pictures modge podged onto the puzzle pieces for us.
2.) I want this cold gone!

Happy to do
1.) Couch snuggling is in my immediate future.

What about all of you?

Birthday Giveaway - 2-4 Pack Part 2!

Today is the last day to enter my Big Birthday Giveaway.

Let's take a closer look at the last 3 resources in the 2-4 pack!

This pack has everything you need to teach students nonfiction text features, including lesson plans!  The first and my favorite part are the text feature posters.

Then there is an interactive notebook page, a sample reader with the text features, a student booklet, and an I have, Who has game.  There are many other student activities as well!  It is super cute!

This bundle has 5 reader's theater scripts with between six and eight characters.  These are a great way to build confidence and increase fluency.  Plus kids love them!  They are all well-known stories: Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Little Red Riding Hood, Chicken Little, Jack and the Beanstalk, and The Three Little Pigs.  The text is repetitive and easy to decode!

These super cute task cards are such a great way to practice superlatives!  You get a set of directions, 18 task cards with answer choices and a recording sheet!  How wonderful!

Have you entered the giveaway yet?  Well here is the rafflecopter!:

and here is the K-2 Pack (part 1) (part 2)

Birthday Giveaway 2-4 Pack part 1

We are into day 3 of my Big Birthday Giveaway!

Today I'm going to talk a little bit more about some of the resources in my 2-4 pack!

This pack is very thorough and a great resource for anyone trying to figure out how to do close reads.  The passages are high interest too - what kids don't love animals! Each passage has an instruction sheet for the teacher, vocabulary organizer, compare and contrast activities, multiple choice and extended response questions, and even a craft!  There are passages for Honeybees and Wasps, Bats, Polar Bears and Panda Bears, Groundhogs and Hedgehogs, Frogs and Toads, the Frog Life Cycle, and Sharks and Whales.

This pack has comprehension activities, writing templates, and craft activities!  The books included are Peter's Chair, Goggles, The Trip, Pet Show, Jennie's Hat, Whistle for Willie, A Letter for Amy, and The Snowy Day.  Each book has a flip book that would be perfect for your interactive notebook.

If you haven't already entered here is the Rafflecopter for the 2-4 pack!

Birthday Giveaway K-2 Pack Part 2!

Did you hear? I'm having a giveaway!

My tri-state blogger friends are helping me out!

Yesterday I posted about 2 of the products in my K-2 pack.  Today I'm going to give you a bit more about the other 3 products.

I don't know about the rest of you but 95% of my kiddos play soccer.  They love soccer - when I say what was one fun thing you did this weekend, they say soccer. So when it comes time to write guess what they want to write about... that's right - SOCCER!

This unit has 17 soccer words with pictures (plus blank cards to make your own)!  I would use these as a resource during writing time to help students with spelling and ideas.  It will also help them to be more detailed.

In my class I would print and laminate these then put them on a binder ring for students to access whenever they are writing about soccer. Soccer, Soccer, Soccer.

Folks this is the most adorable packet with the cutest little raccoon clipart ever! I wanted to color in these pages!  This pack has activities to send home to parents, it has four different cutting sheets (one of which is a great way to talk about shapes.

The emergent reader is perfect for practicing number words.
And I love the look of the color BINGO.

Basically I love everything about this packet and wish I had made it. (That raccoon!)

The last item in the k-2 pack is my Name Plates.

In this pack you get 4 differently colored name plates with correct letter formation and a picture to represent the sound that letter most commonly makes.  I also included the Fountas and Pinnell Kindergarten Sight Word List, and Pre-Primer Dolch Sight Word List formatted so they could be printed on the back of the name plate.

I put these out on my table when I want students to be sitting in a specific place.  They use it as a resource when they are writing.

How would you like to win these fabulous products?  Just enter the rafflecopter below!
